Update, December 01, 2023

GI_Salzburg24 will not take place in its original form.

The Call for Papers for the conference is closed as of December 01, 2023

Journals

Articles submitted to GI_Salzburg will be published in one of our two international scientific journals after acceptance: German-language articles in the AGIT Journal, English-language articles in the GI_Forum Journal. Both are indexed by SCOPUS.

For more information about the German-language AGIT Journal, please >visit our German site.

GI_Forum Journal

GI_Salzburg will continue to publish high quality original research across the transdisciplinary field of Geographic Information Science (GIScience) in the GI_Forum Journal. The journal provides a platform for dialogue among GI-Scientists and educators, technologists and critical thinkers in an ongoing effort to advance the field and ultimately contribute to the expansion of an informed GISociety. Submissions concentrate on innovation in education, science, methodology and technologies in the spatial domain and their role towards a more just, ethical and sustainable science and society.

Publication Schedule

The GI_Forum Journal is published in two annual issues (end of June / end of November). This allows for improved review and revision routines, ultimately leading to an overall higher quality of the journal.

DOAJ

The GI_Forum Journal is included in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). The Austrian Academy of Sciences Press and we as editors are glad to provide this status as a service to all authors requiring formal Open Access recognition for funding and publishing of their research.

Open Access Policy

GI_Forum implements the policy of open access publication after a double-blind peer review process through a highly international team of seasoned scientists for quality assurance. Special emphasis is put on actively supporting young scientists through formative reviews of their submissions. Only English language contributions are published.

Contributions are published under a cc-by-nd license.
