Conference

The Department of Geoinformatics Z_GIS at Paris Lodron University Salzburg, part of the Faculty of Digital and Analytical Sciences since 2022, will in 2026 look back on nearly 40 years of tradition in organizing the AGIT, GI_Forum, and GI_Salzburg conferences. The foundation for the Geoinformatics Conference was laid in 1988 by Prof. Josef Strobl and Prof. Dr. Franz Dollinger. Building on the history and experience we have shared with the geospatial community, we aim to revitalize the “AGIT spirit.” With great enthusiasm, we have developed a renewed conference format that continues to meet the audience’s needs for interaction, collaboration, and topical relevance in 2026 and beyond.
